90+ My Tuition App, a digital teaching platform for the State Board undergraduates, has raised $ 5 million in Series A funding from Pearl Investment LLC, a Dubai-based group of companies.

The company plans to use the fresh funds for market expansion, branding and product development in major cities in India.

The 90+ My Tuition app was founded in 2018 and offers digital tuition to students in grades 5 to 12 of the state education authorities. It offers video and animation-based classes in math, physics, chemistry, and biology, currently for Kerala State Board students. Via the platform, learners get to know mathematical and scientific concepts with animated video content and can access their learning through self-verifiable assessment tests available in the app. Students can download videos and play the lessons later without using the internet. The app also allows parents to track their child’s progress using the Parents Corner feature available in the app.

90+ My Tuition App aims to help nationwide students achieve exceptional grades. It claims that its curriculum helps students achieve a “90+” score.

Vingish Vijay, founder and vice-president of the 90+ My Tuition app, said about the platform: “Our goal is to digitize tutoring, for which we offer focused textbook-oriented animated video content. Students are generally afraid of scoring points in math and science, but we want to change that perception by making these subjects easy to learn with animated content that is memorable to young minds. “

The platform currently offers 3,200 hours of video-based learning content, including tutorial videos, practice questions, simulated online tests, and problem solving.

The Bengaluru-based startup claims to have gained 4.5 lakh users in grades 5 through 12 in the past 16 months and its course completion rate is 86 percent.

The 90+ My Tuition app recently launched its second product, 90+ Top Rank, in the test preparation segment.

The startup is currently aimed only at students on the Kerala State Board and plans to add curriculum to other state boards in the coming months. 90+ My Tuition App expects more than one million downloads of its app in the current year and is aiming for a market share of 5% within three years.
