The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has officially announced that this winter season will witness the launch of operations by three new airlines: BeOnd Airlines, Virgin Atlantic Airways, and Cyprus Airways. This development is set to bring fresh opportunities and options for travelers to the Maldives.
BeOnd Airlines, the world’s first premium leisure airline, is scheduled to take off on November 9th, marking a historic moment for Maldivian aviation. The airline, formed through a partnership between the Maldivian SIMDI Company Private Limited and the UAE’s Arabesque investment firm, will make its inaugural flight to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Virgin Atlantic Airways, a renowned international carrier, is not far behind. It is gearing up to commence services from London Heathrow Airport to Velana International Airport (VIA) on October 30th. With plans for thrice-weekly flights to the Maldives, travelers from the United Kingdom will soon have more options to enjoy this tropical paradise.
Cyprus Airways, too, is adding to the excitement by launching its operations on November 26th, connecting the Maldives with Cyprus. This new route will strengthen the connectivity between the two destinations.
While the arrival of these three new carriers marks a significant milestone for Maldivian aviation, the existing airlines that traditionally serve the Maldives during the winter months are expected to maintain their schedules. The MACL predicts that this winter season will see a total of 41 airlines flying to the Maldives, with the introduction of these three new carriers adding to the diversity of options available to travelers.
The Maldives continues to be a sought-after destination for travelers worldwide, and the addition of these new airlines is sure to enhance the travel experience, making the winter season in the Maldives even more appealing to tourists and aviation enthusiasts.
