Maldives Shows Solidarity with Palestine Amid Ongoing Conflict

In a poignant display of solidarity, the Foreign Minister of the Maldives, Abdullah Shahid, warmly greeted Raghib Ahmed Halaf, the newly appointed Honorary Consul of Palestine to the Maldives, in a meeting held today. During the meeting, Minister Shahid extended a heartfelt welcome to Mr. Halaf and assured him of the unwavering support and cooperation of the Maldivian Government and its people towards Palestine.

The Maldives government has consistently voiced its condemnation of the relentless attacks on Palestine by Israel, and Minister Shahid reiterated this stance during the meeting. He further called upon the international community to thoroughly investigate what he described as "inhuman acts" perpetrated against the Palestinians and to ensure justice is served.

On the global stage, the United Nations has called for an immediate cessation of Israel's ongoing assaults on innocent Palestinians. In response, the Maldives has requested an emergency special session to address this critical issue and bring an end to the violence.


In addition to diplomatic efforts, the Maldivian government has also taken concrete steps to provide aid to the Palestinians affected by the ongoing conflict. The nation has pledged to donate two million bottles of milk to assist those impacted by the attacks. This generous contribution aims to provide essential nutrition to Palestinians in dire need.

This outpouring of generosity highlights the unwavering bond between the Maldives and Palestine, reaffirming the Maldivian commitment to alleviating the suffering of those affected by the ongoing crisis.
