This comes as President-elect Muizzu, who was recently elected as the leader of the Maldives, continues to oversee the transition of power. The Interim Office has expressed serious concerns after receiving information that as many as 40 different items linked to various business transactions involving Heathrow land have been slated for discussion in the next Urbanco Board meeting.

The statement emphasizes the significance of the Hulhumale lands, which are considered the most valuable assets in the capital of the Maldives. President-elect Muizzu's government is keen on ensuring that these assets are managed with prudence and in alignment with their new policies for the country.

The Interim Office is worried that rushing into commercial dealings involving these lands may impede the implementation of policies set forth by the newly formed government. To address these concerns, they have called on all agencies, institutions, and companies to suspend such transactions and act in accordance with the spirit of the transitional phase.

Furthermore, the Interim Office has affirmed its commitment to taking necessary legal steps to prevent such actions and to protect the highest interests of the people. This situation underscores the potential impact of impulsive business decisions on crucial state assets during a government transition.
